Swindon Borough Council:
David Murray John Tower (DMJ)
Better known as the Brunel Tower in honour of the founder of the Swindon works, Swindon’s tallest building stands at 83m high and the DMJ dominates the Swindon skyline, built in 1974 the 21-floor storey building is largely a residential property with 72 apartments available to rent from the Borough Council with the first four floors allocated to office space.
ASI were instructed by Chris Harvey Asbestos manager at Swindon Borough Council to conduct a Refurbishment survey to the entire building prior to a total proposed renovation to the building. Chris has very high expectations from his contractors and we were delighted that he chose ASI amides stiff competition.
The proposed refurbishment works included total electrical re-wiring, works to lift shafts and motor rooms, water tank rooms on the roof, the replacement of all fire doors, external cladding replacement and cosmetic renovations.
Our ASI surveying team conducted works to the internal and entire external fabric of the building including the taking of core samples and endoscopic examination within external steel panels whist causing minimal disruption the both tenants and office staff.
